Sustainable Events Summit sets agenda
UK – The panel topics and first speakers at Vision: 2025’s Sustainable Events Summit (SES) have been confirmed, returning to the Showman’s Show for its ninth edition, on Wednesday 23 October 2024. Supported by title sponsor Festival Republic and hosted by The Showman’s Show, the action-focused summit will present the latest research, tools and knowledge, and brings together leading outdoor event organisers, local authorities, suppliers, and sustainability experts, to shape the future of climate action in the industry – this summit will include roundtables on sector strategy for 2030.

Festivals look towards sustainability code of practice
UK – Creative climate non-profit Julie’s Bicycle, host of festival industry project Vision: 2025, is collaborating with 10 local authorities and more than 60 festivals to test how a Green Events Code of Practice (GECoP) can be adopted nationally.

Boardmasters Foundation Announces £115k Funding Recipients
Boardmasters Foundation has just announced this year’s recipients as it continues its mission to give back to local charities and organisations who go above and beyond for community and culture in Cornwall. 40 local organisations will receive donations from the Foundation, which raises funds annually at Boardmasters surf and music festival. Established in 2017, Boardmasters Foundation has gone on to proudly raise almost half a million pounds,, providing funds to over 100 deserving organisations including charities, start-ups, schools, conversation organisations, emergency services, creatives, skate parks and much more.

The engagement and access that The Power of Events UK has across all 7 sectors of the industry, enables data gathering and in-depth research projects to be delivered confidently and consistently. This will be primarily facilitated through the Events Industry Insight App launched in 2024.

By bringing the industry and university partners together, research projects will be designed to deliver real benefits to the industry in terms of trend analysis, insights and performance improvements.
