EBU appoints Martin Green as director of Eurovision Song Contest

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has appointed Martin Green in a new director role, overseeing the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC)

Green’s track record as an executive producer of major events includes the ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Hull UK City of Culture 2017, the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022 and the BAFTA-winning Eurovision Song Contest in Liverpool in 2023 on behalf of Ukraine.

The event industry’s reliance on data to help it plan for the future, increase its resilience, manage risk and justify investment decisions, is growing year on year.

The engagement and access that The Power of Events UK has across all 7 sectors of the industry, enables data gathering and in-depth research projects to be delivered confidently and consistently. This will be primarily facilitated through the Events Industry Insight App launched in 2024.

By bringing the industry and university partners together, research projects will be designed to deliver real benefits to the industry in terms of trend analysis, insights and performance improvements.
