Introduction

Showcasing, respecting and valuing the power of events without having access to in-depth data and expert research projects, is simply not acceptable. Our reliance on data sets to help us plan for the future, increase our resilience, manage risk and justify investment decisions, is growing year on year.

This new industry wide approach to data collection will be deployed through the Event Industry Insight App which launched in October 2023. We encourage everyone who is passionate about the incredible live experiences UK event professionals deliver every day, to download and register on the app. This will help ensure a greater profile, understanding and value placed on our world leading UK Event industry.

By bringing academia and the industry closer together, research projects will be designed to deliver real benefits to the industry in terms of trend analysis, insights and performance improvements. As well as commissioning our own research, our access to the industry workforce will enable us to support all types of short, medium and long term studies for partners and supporters too.

Here, There and Everywhere.
UK Music
Here, There and Everywhere is a new report written by trade body, UK Music. It sets out the numbers of foreign and domestic music tourists who attended festivals and concerts in the UK in 2022, plus how much visitors spent at live music events and how many jobs were sustained by the sector in the industry’s first full year post-Covid. It then explores the numbers for all twelve regions of the UK. Through case studies and regional commentary, the report examines the whole of the UK’s vital local music ecosystem. It concludes with an extensive toolkit for local councils that highlights how all towns, cities and regions can transform into music powerhouses.
