HebCelt Islands Stage to have zero carbon footprint for second year

HebCelt will once again be significantly powered by green hydrogen thanks to funding from EventScotland’s National Events Programme, as it continues its commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Recently named one of the top 10 sustainable events in Europe, 2022 saw the festival utilise PlusZero’s innovative technology for the first time, with the Islands Stage in the main arena powered by zero-emissions energy during the three day event.

Behind the scenes at the Royal Highland Show build
The Royal Highland Show is an annual showcase for rural and agricultural products, produce and lifestyle. As the largest agricultural show in Scotland, the event draws enthusiasts and industry professionals from far and wide to the magnificent Royal Highland Centre in Scotland. Locally based Field & Lawn Ltd are responsible for the monumental task of constructing a remarkable array of marquees and temporary structures for the event. Building around 14,000m2 (3.5 acres) of covered space.

The event industry’s reliance on data to help it plan for the future, increase its resilience, manage risk and justify investment decisions, is growing year on year.

The engagement and access that The Power of Events (UK) has across all 7 sectors of the industry, enables data gathering and in-depth research projects to be delivered confidently and consistently. This will be primarily facilitated through the new insight app to be launched on 28th Sep 2023.

By bringing the industry and university partners together, research projects will be designed to deliver real benefits to the industry in terms of trend analysis, insights and performance improvements.
