The Value of the UK Outdoor Events Industry

This research, funded by the Purple Guide and the Events Industry Forum and delivered by The Power of Events, aims to measure the economic and social impact of the UK Outdoor Events Industry. Participants are asked to provide details about the outdoor events they deliver (not their organisations). All data will be used solely for research purposes and will not be linked to specific events or organisers. What is the main purpose of the Event(Required)

Please indicate the primary focus of your event. The definition of outdoor event that we are using is: An outdoor event is a planned, time-limited gathering held mainly in open-air settings to create an experience for attendees. These events – cultural, entertainment, sporting, community, leisure, or commercial – can occur in rural or urban areas. They are organised (often requiring permissions or licences), take place in non-permanent or public spaces like parks or streets, and are intended to attract public or invited audiences, often with regional or national reach.

What is the gross turnover of the Event (£)?(Required)

This can be an estimated figure for the event excluding business operating costs, but including ticket sales, sponsorship, grants, trading etc. If applicable, this figure is including VAT. This question is focused on the event income and costs specifically.

What ticket prices do you charge?

Please details the prices you charge for tickets for General Admission excluding hospitality, VIP or exclusive offers, e.g. full event, single day, single event, other. Please also note if ticket prices include camping/glamping/transport/parking or other services

How many people do you employ (paid) in planning/developing the Event?(Required)

For example, Event X employs 15 people full time over the year, and 30 freelancers for fixed contracts. This detail should exclude the staff of your suppliers e.g. security. Please identify if this is direct employment (full or part time), casual, or freelance contractors. Planning/developing the event includes all work up to the point of getting onsite.
