Boomtown Fair co-founder Luke Mitchell has outlined plans to create ‘a new kind of Boomtown’ having secured a 20% increase in the event’s capacity.

The Fyre Festival brand has a new owner – early 2000s file-sharing sharing service and pirating platform LimeWire. LimeWire, which was shut down in 2011 before relaunching in 2022 as a crypto company, has revealed it has officially acquired the Fyre brand, but will not be bringing back the notorious festival.

A project, that will see a collective of independent festival organisers and grassroots venue operators launch an 8,000-capacity festival next year, has won £39,000 in Arts Council Funding.
